Device Setup

Device Setup

The Device Setup page allows you to manage all handheld devices that connect to your PanatrackerGP portal.

Access Device Setup from the Panatracker portal under Configure > Device Setup.

Device Setup Features

On the Device Setup page, the current server version is displayed. Any devices out-of-date with that version will display the Version in red text.

The Device Setup page supports these functions:

  • Deleting a device: Permanently remove a device from the system.
  • Inactivating and Reactivating a device: Note that you cannot activate more devices than you are licensed for.
  • Device ID information: View the unique identifier for each device.
  • Review of Version and OS Information: Check the software version and operating system running on each device.
  • Review the Last Registered date: See when each device last connected to the portal.
  • Review the IP Address for the device: View the network address of each device.

Install instructions are also available on the device setup page.

Legacy Settings - WM Devices Only

The following settings apply only to Windows Mobile devices and are not used with Android devices:

Logon Required: The Android application requires all users to log on to the device application. WM does not have that requirement.

Device Profile: Since user logon is required for Android, the profile used is the user's profile and not the device profile.

TrxPrefix: This was used for the WM field inventory and sales module that supported offline data capture. The prefix was used for transactions created to eliminate potential duplicate transaction numbers when offline transactions were recorded and synchronized (synced back to the server).
