Manufacturing Configuration
Configure PanatrackerGP to work with GP Manufacturing, Vicinity Manufacturing, or Horizon Manufacturing. These settings control how component issues and finished goods receipts are recorded.
GP Manufacturing requires a .cnk file installed and configured in Dynamics GP. GP must be running on a dedicated workstation to support automated processing of transactions.
General Manufacturing Settings
- Manufacturing Add-In — Select the manufacturing solution: GP Manufacturing, Vicinity Manufacturing, or Horizon Manufacturing.
- Enable Issue Inventory — Enables the transaction that issues component items to manufacturing work orders/batches.
- Enable Create Production — Enables the transaction that records finished good items to add to your inventory.
- Enable Quick MO — Enables Quick MO transaction recording in GP (GP Manufacturing only).
- Use UOM for Manufacturing — Enables the unit of measure field on manufacturing transactions. Requires correct unit of measure setup for item conversions.
- Default Site for Manufacturing Transactions — Sets a site default for manufacturing transactions. Must be a valid site in Dynamics GP.
- Bin List for Manufacturing Transactions — Defines the bin lookup list scope: All Bins for Site or All Bins for Item.
Issue Inventory Transaction Settings
- Issue Inventory Component Item List Sort Order — Displays the component item lookup list sorted by Sequence Number or Item Number.
- Issue Inventory Allow Over Issue — Allows issuing more than the calculated required component quantity.
- Allow Selection of Expired Lots on Issue Inventory — When enabled, expired lots may be selected for components. Not recommended as best practice.
- Default From Site for Issue Inventory — Sets a default site to issue component/ingredient items from.
- Issue Inventory Reset Field — Defines which field resets after an issue transaction: Item or Work Order.
- Serial Quantity Capture Behavior on Manufacturing — Sets the serial capture method: enter a quantity and count serial scans against it, or display a counter for serial scans.
- Over Issue for Issue Inventory Tolerance Percentage — When Issue Inventory Allow Over Issue is enabled, defines the tolerance percentage allowed.
Create Production Settings
- Default Create Production Bin — Sets the default bin for finished good receiving.
- Default Receive to Bin for Manufacturing Transactions — Defines the bin logic for receiving finished goods when no default bin is specified:
- User Entry
- Site Receiving Default (PO Receiving bin designated for the site)
- Item Receiving Default (PO Receiving bin designated for the item)
- Create Production Allow Over Production — When enabled, the quantity to produce can exceed the quantities set on the work order.
- Production Quantity Threshold — When Create Production Allow Over Production is enabled, sets the threshold allowed.
- Create Production Reset Line — Defines which field resets for the next transaction entry: Work Order, Item, Bin, Lot, or Quantity. For serial tracked items, focus remains in the serial field until the quantity remaining to produce reaches 0.
- Default Production Quantity from Previous Scan — For bulk and lot tracked items only. When enabled, the quantity defaults from the previous entry. Quantity can be overridden.
- Manufacturing Expiration Date — Defines the source for expiration date calculation: None, PanatrackerGP, or Dynamics GP.
- Lot Expire Date Calculation on Manufacturing Transactions — Defines the days to set for expiration date calculated from the entry date. Used when Manufacturing Expiration Date is set to PanatrackerGP and Lot Expire Date Assignment on Manufacturing Transactions is set to AutoCreate.
- Lot Auto Assign Definitions for Manufacturing Transactions — Defines the lot number assignment method:
- User Assigned
- Current Date
- MO and Current Date
- Next Sequence Number
- Work Order and Next Sequence Number
- Lot Manufacture Date Assignment on Manufacturing Transactions — Sets the manufacture date method: Current Date or User Entry.
- Lot Expire Date Assignment on Manufacturing Transactions — Sets the expiration date method: AutoCreate, None, or User Entry.
- Manufacturing Allow Auto Lot Assignment Change — When a lot assignment has a default, allows editing the lot number entry.
- Capture Lot Attributes on Manufacturing Transactions — Enables GP Lot Attributes for data capture.
- Serial Assignments for Manufacturing — Defines serial assignment method: User Entry or AutoAssigned. AutoAssigned uses the GP serial mask setup. If the item does not have a mask defined, the logic reverts to user entry.
- Default To Site for Create Production — Defaults the site assignment and filters the manufacturing orders available to select.
Vicinity Manufacturing Settings
Vicinity integration uses Vicinity’s web services to communicate with the manufacturing system.
- Vicinity Web Service Location — Defines the URL for the Vicinity Web Services.
- Vicinity Company Name — Name of the Vicinity company.
- Vicinity Database Name — Name of the Vicinity database.
- Vicinity Default Facility — Sets the Facility field default.
- Vicinity Allow Add Create Production — When enabled, users can add a finished good item on-the-fly to a Vicinity batch.
- Vicinity Submit Create Production to GP — When enabled, uses the Vicinity web service that automatically submits the adjustment to GP. When disabled, submission is handled within Vicinity.
- Vicinity Issue Item Selection Option — Defines which items can be selected in the Issue Inventory transaction: Raw Materials, or Raw Materials and BOM.
- Vicinity Submit Issue to GP — When enabled, uses the Vicinity web service that automatically submits the issue to GP. When disabled, submission is handled within Vicinity.
- Issue Inventory Display Lot QC Status — Displays the quality control status for lots in the Issue Inventory transaction.
- Allow Selection from All Raw Materials from Vicinity Formula — Allows selection from all raw materials defined in the Vicinity formula.
Horizon Manufacturing Settings
Horizon Manufacturing integration requires an add-on from Horizon Manufacturing (sold directly by Horizon). PanatrackerGP drops transactions to a table that is then processed by the Horizon add-on module.
- Horizons Assigns Lot Numbers — When enabled, the Horizon Manufacturing system completes lot number assignment.
- Horizons Use Date for Batch Code — Uses the date as the batch code for Horizon transactions.
- Horizons Ask User If Complete — When enabled, allows the user to determine if the finished good receipt action is complete before submission to Horizon. Allows users to identify when the work order is complete even if the total expected quantity to manufacture has not been met.
- Horizons Submit Partials Immediately — For lot assignment. When disabled, Horizon generates multiple lot numbers.
- Horizons Submit Create Production Stored Procedure Name — Defines the stored procedure name used to submit Create Production transactions to Horizon.
