Implementing PanatrackerGP-System Requirements

Implementing PanatrackerGP-System Requirements

Verify your environment meets these requirements before installing PanatrackerGP.

Installation Components

PanatrackerGP requires three installation components:

  • SQL Server login account
  • Intranet website using Microsoft IIS
  • Client app on supported Android devices

Dynamics GP Compatibility

PanatrackerGP supports Microsoft Dynamics GP 2013 or higher.

Server Requirements

Install PanatrackerGP on your SQL server alongside your Dynamics GP company databases. The server requires:

  • Microsoft IIS
  • .NET 4.5.2 or later (included with Windows Server 2012)
  • .NET 4.7.2 or later (if using NiceLabel)
  • Microsoft eConnect for Dynamics GP

PanatrackerGP communicates with your GP and SQL server but does not need to be installed on the same server as GP. The eConnect, IIS, and .NET components must be on the server where PanatrackerGP is installed.

Recommended Server Specifications

System requirements vary based on simultaneous transactions and number of handhelds in use. For a server hosting only PanatrackerGP with approximately 10 handhelds:

  • Processor — 1GHz dual core or better
  • RAM — 4 to 6 GB
  • Storage — 100 MB drive space

Mobile Device Requirements

PanatrackerGP operates on Android 6.0 or newer. iOS is not supported. The legacy solution operates on Windows Mobile devices, which will continue to be supported for the next few years despite Microsoft ending platform support.

Panatrack recommends devices with embedded barcode scanners supporting both 1D and 2D scanning, especially for serial or lot tracked items using PanaCode (concatenated barcodes).

Important Device Sourcing Note

Panatrack is a reseller for mobile devices. If purchasing from another source, contact Panatrack with device details to confirm compatibility before ordering.

Hosted Server Considerations

Most PanatrackerGP installations operate on your private network (intranet). If your server is in a hosted environment, two setup options are available:

  • Site-to-Site VPN — Allows communication between handheld scanners and your GP server
  • Internet Facing Deployment (IFD) — Accessible to the internet, requires IT or hosting service setup with SSL security certificate

Additional Hosted Environment Considerations

  • Label Printing — Requires a VPN or open forwarded port to access on-site label printers
  • Performance — Network traffic can impact application performance

Recommended Mobile Devices

For detailed scanner specifications, request a hardware guide from Panatrack.

BYOD Requirements

Mobile phones, tablets, and other personal devices must meet these minimum requirements:

  • Android Version — 6.0 or newer
  • Connectivity — Wi-Fi or network (4G requires additional configuration)
  • Camera — 8 megapixel or better rear-facing with auto focus
  • Screen Size — 4.5 inches minimum (recommended)
  • Google Mobile Services — GMS support required (standard on consumer Android devices)

Legacy and Discontinued Devices

These Windows Mobile devices continue to receive limited support:

  • Zebra MC9200, MC65, MC55, MC45
  • Honeywell CK75 (Windows Mobile), CK3X, CK3R, CN75/CN75e, Dolphin 60s/6000/6500
  • Motorola MC9500, MC9090-G, MC9190-G, MC55
  • Intermec CK3A/CK3B, CN70/CN70e, CK71
