Trailing spaces embedded in barcode

To trim trailing spaces from scanned item codes, configure the following settings on the PanatrackerGP portal.

Configuration Steps

  1. Navigate to System Settings > Barcode Control on the portal.

  2. Configure the following settings: - Enable Regex Features — Set to TRUE - Data Pattern Item Field — Enter (.*\S)[ ]*$

  3. Restart the handhelds to accept the above change.

  4. Confirm that the trailing spaces are removed in the relevant transactions.

Using Regex for Other Fields

Similar regex patterns can be used to parse or trim data from other fields. The pattern (.*\S)[ ]*$ captures all non-whitespace characters and removes any trailing spaces, ensuring clean data entry when scanning barcodes that may contain embedded whitespace.
