Put Away (Bin Move)

This transaction moves multiple items out of the same location to different bin areas. The most common use case is after receiving items to a general dock bin area, then putting them away to their stock bin locations.

Field Descriptions

Site — May be defaulted from a setting based on the user profile, or the user may select or change it.

From Bin — Select the bin the items are being moved from. This remains defaulted until exiting the transaction.

Item — Scan or select the item to move. The item list shows items currently in the entered From Bin.

To Bin — When the Default Put Away Bin setting is NOT set to None, the destination bin is defaulted. Options include:

  • Sales Order Fulfillment Default (item)
  • Purchase Receipts Default (item)
  • First Priority Bin

To Bin Sort Order options:

  • Bin Order
  • Least Quantity Available
  • Greatest Quantity Available
  • Priority Bin Assignment
  • Priority Bin Min to Max Calculated Available

Quantity — Enter the quantity to move for items tracked by quantity.

If the item is LOT tracked, select the Lot and the lot quantity to move.

If the item is SERIAL tracked, scan the serials to move. Once all serials are moved, focus returns to the Item field.

Each submit executes a bin-to-bin move in GP. This is a real-time transaction requiring no further posting step in GP—inventory quantities are updated immediately.
