Why are my On Hand and Available quantities on the handheld different from DynamicsGP?

Why are my On Hand and Available quantities on the handheld different from DynamicsGP?

How PanatrackerGP Calculates Quantities

PanatrackerGP maintains current quantities by including transactions that are In Progress, Failed, or Pending in its calculations. These transactions haven't been submitted to Dynamics GP yet, so they create differences between the two systems.

Example Scenario

If inventory was fulfilled through a handheld and the submission failed (e.g., because the document was open in GP):

  • PanatrackerGP still considers that inventory removed
  • Dynamics GP shows the inventory as still available
  • The expectation is that users periodically review the portal to resubmit or discard failed transactions

Finding Stranded Transactions

If quantities don't match between PanatrackerGP and Dynamics GP, you likely have transactions in Failed, In Progress, or Pending status.

Review Transactions in the Portal

  1. Navigate to the appropriate transaction page in the PanatrackerGP portal.
  2. Tap the filter button next to the Status column header.
  3. Filter by the status you want to review (Failed, In Progress, or Pending).
  4. Tap Filter.

View Transaction Details

  1. Tap the arrow on the left side of a transaction to expand it.
  2. Select the Transaction Details tab.
  3. Review the eConnect error message to understand what went wrong.

Common issues include:

  • Document was open in GP during submission
  • Configuration issue needs to be fixed

Resolve Transactions

For each stranded transaction, choose one of the following actions:

  • Discard — Remove the transaction if it's no longer needed
  • Resubmit — Attempt to submit again
  • Edit then Resubmit — Fix the transaction and resubmit

Important: Be careful with In Progress transactions. This status indicates work actively being performed on a handheld. Discarding an In Progress transaction could delete someone's current work. A transaction may be stuck in In Progress if the handheld was rebooted mid-transaction or a critical error occurred.
