Reclassify Unit Transaction

This transaction reassigns an existing unit to a different Item Master. Common use cases include correcting a unit that was received under the wrong item master, or consolidating units when duplicate item masters exist for the same item.

This transaction is available only for serial-tracked items.

Transaction Fields

  • Unit Handle — Select the unit to reclassify. The current item master assignment and description are displayed.
  • New Item Master — Select the new item master to assign. The corresponding description is displayed for verification.

Attribute Handling

If the new item master has different unit attributes defined:

  • Attributes that will be removed are displayed.
  • Attributes to assign are displayed.
  • Attributes that match between the old and new assignment are displayed and enabled for editing if needed.

!!! warning This transaction should be used with caution. Review all details before committing the change. Assign this transaction only to users with an administrator role.
