Update Unit

Update Unit

This transaction supports multiple workflow options for serialized units. Only serialized units can be selected for this transaction.

Status Updates

The unit status can be updated to one of the following:

  • Hold
  • Out of Service
  • Missing
  • Available

The Placed In field supports updating the unit's area location.

Attribute Capture

Attributes can be defined on item templates to be captured or updated through this transaction. This is typically used for data that is not known when the unit is first received — for example:

  • Packaging date
  • Warranty start and end dates
  • Weight and dimensions (commonly used for serialized containers that need to be weighed and measured at a later step)

To restrict attribute changes by user, configure role-based access for the Update Unit transaction.
