Retire Unit Transaction

Retire Unit Transaction

For internally owned capital assets tracked in financials for depreciation, retire dates and disposals need to be recorded. Enable the Track for Retirement and Disposal rule on the item template for serial-tracked items that require this workflow.

PanatrackerST treats retirement and disposal separately — units may be retired for financial purposes but still used by the organization. When a unit is disposed, it is no longer tracked in the system.

A grid view for retired units is available under Inquiries and Views. The grid includes the retire date and current unit status.

Ensure the Retire Unit Transaction is enabled in the team role for users who need access.

Transaction Fields

  • Handle — Select the unit to retire or dispose. The item template must have Track for Retirement and Disposal enabled.
  • Status — Choose the appropriate status:
  • Retired — The current unit status (Available, Deployed, Checked Out) is retained. A retire date is recorded.
  • Disposed — The unit is no longer tracked in the system. Only available after a unit already has a retire date.
