Group Assignment Feature
The new grouping feature supports selecting a group of serialized units. Originally designed for reporting purposes — such as grouping individual units that represent a financial fixed asset record. Individual records in PanatrackerST track physical attributes, location, status, and custody. Grouping supports reporting against the financial record representing multiple units.
Example: An organization receives 20 new laptops. The 20 laptops are capitalized and depreciated in the ERP system. The ERP record ID is used as the Group ID for audit reporting against each individual laptop.
The grouping feature includes:
- Grouping Template Setup — Templates define additional data attributes to capture. Assignment can be restricted by Item Template. A unique prefix for auto-numbering the Group ID can be configured.
- A new item template rule enables grouping for units associated with that template.
- Unit attributes can be configured to display on grouping grid views (Group ID list and corresponding Unit list) under organization grid view setup.
- A grid view for created Groups with the ability to create new groups and add units individually or from a filtered list.
- Grouping permissions added under Organization Role (Units tab).
This feature is the gateway for other mass-select features on the roadmap.
Retire/Dispose Enhancements
- Updated the grid view to display all units with the retire/dispose rule enabled. Filters can isolate retired-only or disposed-only units.
- A retired unit continues to be tracked until it is disposed. Disposed units are no longer tracked outside of the Disposed unit grid.
- New standard report for Retire/Disposed units.
Package Tracking Enhancements
- Updated receiving logic for packages addressed to a department or external recipient (not a specific person).
- Updated pick-up logic to add the recipient when the received recipient is not a specific person.
- Added the ability to edit received (pending pick up/delivery) packages for additional details or recipient updates.
- Added standard columns to the Package grid view: receiving user, recipient email, phone number, and contact field.
- Added the ability to define additional package attributes for the grid view.
- Corresponding updates to mobile receiving and delivery transactions.
Other Improvements
- Past Due Date Warnings — Warnings now display only when a date is entered as part of a transaction, not on historically assigned data.
- Edit Unit Attributes — If the user does not have edit permission, attributes display as read-only instead of appearing editable.
- Place In Service Date — Added as an option on the primary Unit Grid View.
- Transaction Logging — Additional fields added to general logging; corrected maintenance transaction logging.
- Reports — Check Out History Report and Retired/Disposed Units Report added.
Roadmap
Remote Custodian Features
A new user type will support logging into a restricted portal to view units in the user's custody. Available transactions will include:
- Validate Units — Validate items in personal custody.
- Transfer Custody — Transfer to another user and/or project.
- Receive Inbound — Receive units shipped directly to the user (from vendors or internal transfers). Returnable units are marked as checked out upon receipt.
- Add Units — Add units in current custody (targeted for initial setup).
- Request Items — Request items for check out (returnable and non-returnable).
Additional infrastructure: address and phone number fields on user setup, ability to convert community users to the custodian type, a custodian portal with dashboard, and a custodian mobile app.
Transfer Order Enhancements
Ability to select a system user, custodian user, or customer as the transfer destination. Supports pick, reserve, and ship workflows with appropriate status updates.
Check Out Updates
Customer type setup for sales, custodian, or consignment. Custodian customers enabled on the Check Out transaction.
Transaction Logging Enhancements
Transaction-specific logs with details for Check Out History, Maintenance History, Replace Handle, Update Unit, and Receiving.
Reports
Updates planned for Unit Maintenance, Loanable Units, and Contents/Inventory by Area reports. New Item Summary and Unit History reports.
