Release Notes for December 2023

Release Notes for December 2023

New Features

  • Unit Cost fields added to Purchase Order Lines, Item Master Records, and Serial Tracked Unit Records. If using PO Receiving, the PO line unit cost defaults automatically to each serialized unit record.
  • Item Count Transaction — Logging enhancements added. The transaction interface now identifies items counted in the area selected for the current count session.
  • Receive New Unit — A new tab displays receipt quantity by Item Code for additional reference.
  • Non-Inventory Item Type — Available on the maintenance transaction for recording parts or supplies that don't require inventory tracking. New non-inventory items can be created on the fly.
  • Inactive Flag for Assignees — Assignees cannot be inactivated if they have items checked out or deployed to them.
  • Handle Auto-Create Setting — Enable or disable auto-creation for item and movable container handles. When disabled, users control the Handle ID entry.
  • Check Out Setting — Option to disable the Staging Area field for organizations that do not use staging areas.
  • Team Role Settings — New settings to turn off various grid views for specific users.

Check Out Transaction Enhancements

  • Added support for checking out to a customer.
  • Added support for shipping a saved check-out reservation.
  • New exit logic for in-progress check-out transactions: when leaving without completing, the user is prompted to save as a reservation or void the transaction. Voiding sets all selected units back to Available and closes the reservation.

Other Enhancements

  • Validate Unit — Now supports re-counting quantity-tracked items.
  • Place-In-Service Templates — Added to support transactional data and checklists. Item templates can define which Place In Service templates are available.
  • Last Validate Date — Now available on serial-tracked unit records.
  • Missing Units Dashboard Card — New card with a link to the corresponding grid view.
  • Shipping Grid Views — Moved under the Shipping section.
  • Package Tracking — Multiple enhancements.
  • User Grid Views — System, Custodian, and View Access users now display together with a user type column for filtering.

New User Types and Dashboards

Custodian User

Custodian users have items in their custody (checked out or deployed) and can now log into a custodian dashboard to view their items. Additional features planned include item validation, item requests, and receiving in-transit items. This user type will be offered at an additional fee once additional functionality is added.

View Access User

View Access users can be assigned to multiple teams and view items owned by or in custody of those teams. Additional views include quantity by item master and status, project access, and custom reports.

Supporting Infrastructure

Work completed in support of upcoming changes:

Decoupling of Facility and Teams

Teams and facilities will be decoupled so that a facility can have multiple teams assigned. This addresses the limitation where a team could only be associated with a single facility, which was problematic for organizations using teams as departments within the same facility.

Managing Team

A new tracking level will separate the managing team concept from custodian logic. This supports reporting and view-only users with additional rules for item returns, access, and interaction.

Lot Tracking

Backend logic for a new lot-tracked item type was added. Lot tracking across the system will be added in subsequent releases.

Roadmap

  • Lot Tracking item type available for setup.
  • Work Order infrastructure for unit maintenance (scheduled and unplanned).
  • Validate Unit enhancements: logging for not-found and out-of-place units, structured validation scheduling.
