Shipping Support Overhaul
Shipping support was completely overhauled for better reporting and flexibility. Shipments were previously classified as a virtual container for grouping staged items — this design created limitations. The Shipment ID has been migrated to a transactional model.
Key changes:
- Shipment templates can still be defined for capturing different data for different shipment types.
- The Shipment ID groups units for shipping, but the ID is now tagged on each unit (rather than behaving like a container). This allows area locations to remain variable and attached to individual units.
- Removing a unit tagged for a shipment is now easier.
- Shipments can be set up without requiring a customer or transfer order.
Shipment IDs can be created:
- As part of a customer or transfer order setup.
- On the Build Shipment transaction.
Except for individual units with the direct-shipment rule, a shipment build or order pick against a Shipment ID must be completed before shipping.
Updated and added views:
- Pending Shipment Grid View
- In-Transit Shipments
- In-Transit Unit (new grid view)
- In-Transit Items
- Completed Shipments (moved to a tab on transaction history)
- Shipped Items (moved to a tab on transaction history)
Build Shipment Transaction Updates
- Ability to "sweep" picked units for an order into the shipment without selecting each unit individually.
- Option to select specific picked units to include.
- Ability to "pack" units into a movable container for shipping.
- Option to select units to ship outside of an order infrastructure. Creation of the Shipment ID includes destination selection.
Customer Orders and Transfer Orders should only be used when order lines and pick functionality are needed.
Shipping Transaction Updates
The Build Shipment step is now required before shipping (unless shipping individual serialized units). If no Shipment ID is selected at shipping, the user selects the destination and only serialized units not associated with a Shipment ID can be selected. A tracking number field is enabled in this mode.
New Shipping Documents — An additional version of Bill of Lading and Packing List was created. Support for container shipping labels was added for NiceLabel printing.
Community User Type
A new "Community User" type was added. Community users have no roles or system assignments but can be package recipients or have items checked out to them.
Imports
Multiple imports were created:
- Item Master
- Facilities/Areas
- Projects
The user interface for importing data is on the roadmap.
Integrations
- Microsoft Dynamics GP to PanatrackerST for purchase orders.
- PanatrackerST to Microsoft Dynamics GP for PO Receiving.
Other Updates
- Put Away (Mobile) — Moved the current location tab to be more accessible.
- Update Unit & View Container (Mobile) — Updated weight and dimension display layout.
- Projects — Added project location and master project to grid view data. Added logic to assign a project to a movable container at receiving when all units have the same owner.
- Ownership Logic — Ability to track ownership by organization versus by team. Removes overhead of merging records based on ownership for organizations with multiple internal teams.
- Attribute Assignments — Added drag-and-drop for assigned attribute order.
General UI Updates
- Area, PO Receiving, PO Entry, Team Layout
- Checked Out Items Grid View, Project Units Grid View
